According to Statistics Canada’s March Labour Force Survey, the unemployment rate among immigrants who arrived in Canada during the last five years was at an all-time low.
The freshly issued study depicted the state of the Canadian labour market for the week of March 13 to 19. Overall, unemployment in Canada declined 0.2 percentage points to 5.3 percent, the lowest level since comparable records began in 1976. The unemployment rate is calculated by dividing the number of unemployed people by the total labour force.
