What is Express Entry?
Express Entry is not an “immigration program”, but a system to manage Canadian permanent residence applications. It expedites the processing time of the following programs:
* FSWP: Federal Skilled Worker Program
* CEC: Canadian Experience Class
* FSTP: Federal Skilled Trades Program
Express entry processing time:
Canada’s immigration department has confirmed most new Express Entry applications will be processed in 6 months. Other programs usually take about two to three years for approval.
How to immigrate through Express Entry?
To immigrate through express entry, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Minimum requirements: refers to the minimum standards for entering the “pool” under the corresponding programs.
- Merit-based entrance: you will compete with other candidates who meet the “minimum requirements” after entering the pool. Applicants with higher scores will be given priority to enter the approval process.
Express Entry Canada requirements:
Recently, IRCC announced changes to the National Occupational Classification. 16 occupations such as elementary and secondary school teacher assistants, sheriffs and bailiffs, and transport truck drivers will become eligible under Express Entry this year. Three occupations (other performers; program leaders and instructors in recreation, sport and fitness; and tailors, dressmakers, furriers and milliners.) will be removed at the same time.
