To “deliver care to people, closer to home,” the Ontario government stated on January 20 in London that they will pay the tuition for 2,500 aspiring healthcare professionals.
In a news statement on Friday, the government announced that it was increasing the “Learn and Stay grant” in order to “connect underserved and expanding populations with health care workers.”
Premier Doug Ford stated that adding nurses, paramedics, and med-techs to more underprivileged and expanding communities under the Ontario Learn and Stay programme is “another innovative solution that’s connecting people to care, closer to home.”
