Starting today, May 15, 2024, new rules are in effect that make international students graduating from public-private partnership (PPP) colleges ineligible for Post-Graduation Work Permits (PGWPs). If you are or will be enrolled in a PPP program, it’s crucial to understand these changes:
Key Changes:
1. Students graduating from PPP programs starting on or after May 15, 2024, will no longer qualify for PGWPs.
2. This rule change, originally set for September 1, 2024, has been advanced to prevent institutions from altering admission dates to bypass the new regulations.
General PGWP Eligibility:
1. Must graduate from a PGWP-eligible Designated Learning Institution (DLI).
2. Must have maintained full-time student status during each semester.
3. Must hold a valid study permit within the last 180 days.
