OINP Entrepreneur Stream Immigration
The Entrepreneur Stream is a method of immigration under Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). This stream of immigration encourages foreign entrepreneurs who are interested in living in Canada to immigrate by setting up a business in Ontario or purchase an existing business in the province, and obtain permanent resident status for the applicant, the applicant’s family, and up to one business partner.
This stream of immigration has 2 stages:
Stage 1 – express your interest in this program, apply online, and follow the appropriate steps including an in-person interview at Toronto, Ontario.
Stage 2 – a temporary work visa is granted and you have 20 months to implement your business plan and submit a report. If the business meets all the requirements you will be eligible for nomination for permanent residence
Stream Advantage
- Toronto is the fastest growing city in Ontario economically with an abundance of business opportunities; it is the top-choice city for new immigrants
- Prior to official immigration, applicants can apply for Temporary Work Permit and come work in Canada, experience the life style Ontario has to offer, and research and set up the children’s education needs ahead of time.
- Low personal investment funds required
- Low net asset required

- Each applicant must invest $200,000 – $600,000 CAD or purchase an existing business establishment depending on the sector or industry
- Each applicant must have a minimum net worth of at least 400,00 to 800,000 CAD depending on the sector or industry
- If needed, a business partner of the applicant can also be nominated for Permanent Residence for the purpose of establishing a business together in Ontario.
