OINP Master/PhD Graduate Streams

The Master/PhD Graduate streams give international graduates with an Ontario masters or PhD degree the opportunity to apply to permanently live and work in Ontario.

The OINP Masters Graduate stream and OINP PhD streams are intended to help international graduates to settle in Ontario, enabling them to gain study permits and attend eligible Ontario universities. These include the University of Toronto, the University of Western Ontario, and Saint Paul University federated with the University of Ottawa, among others.

After successfully graduating from an eligible university in Ontario, through the Ontario Masters or PhD Graduate stream 2021 and the Ontario Masters stream of subsequent years, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Programs (OINP), and provincial nominee programs like these, immigrants can gain work experience and residence in Ontario. Ontario immigration Master’s or PhD streams also offer post-graduate immigration opportunities for express entry.

Who Can Apply?

• Master or PhD graduates from an eligible university in Ontario 

Program Advantages: 

• No job offer required
• Spouse and dependent children can be included in the application

Applicants Requirements:

• Must submit the application within two years of completing the degree. 
• Must have legally lived in Ontario for at least one year in the past two years before you apply. 
• Must be living in Ontario with legal status or living outside Canada at the time of application. 
• Must intend to live in Ontario after you’ve been granted permanent residency. 
• Must have enough money to support yourself and your dependent family members when you settle in Canada. 

Masters Graduate Stream

• Must have completed at least one academic year of full-time study to get a masters degree.
• Language at a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher (IELTS General 6 in all skills)

PhD Graduate Stream

• Must have completed at least two years of PhD studies while legally living and studying in Ontario.

5. Submitting your Provincial Expression of Interest application.
6. Receiving Provincial Invitation to Apply. 
7. Submitting the Provincial Nomination application. 
8. Receiving the Provincial Nomination Certificate. 
9. Submitting the whole family’s federal immigration applications. 
10. Receiving approval on your applications.
11. Arriving in Canada.
