As we all know, we need to upload/mail photos to the immigration office for permanent resident card production. In the past few months, we have received many requests for photo tips through social media. All of them have sent photos at least once. Unfortunately, they were all rejected.
Photo specifications
– Photo dimensions of permanent resident card are: 50 mm x 70 mm (2 inches wide x 2 3/4 inches long)
– Must be taken within the last six months
– Height of the face measures between 31 mm and 36 mm (1 1/4 inches and 1 7/16 inches) from chin to crown of head (natural top of head)
– Eyes have to be open and clearly visible and mouth closed
– Wear dark-colored clothes (the background is white)
– You can wear simple necklaces & earrings
– Make sure the glasses are not reflective
– Your hair can be down but should not cover your face
Note
– Don’t laugh
– Don’t wear off-the-shoulder tops
– Contact lenses are prohibited
– Don’t photoshop
– Sunglasses and colored glasses are not allowed
– Hats/hoods are not allowed unless for religious or medical purposes
– No shadows on the face/shoulders/ears/background
Mailing the photos
The following information must be written on the back of the photos:
– Applicant’s name and date of birth
– Name of address of the photography studio
– Date the photo was taken
