Salma Zahid and Rechie Valdez, members of parliament, made the announcement from Scarborough today. They said that instead of requiring 24 months of work experience in Canada, carers will now just need 12 months.
The modification will be retroactive for carers who have already submitted an application as of April 30, 2023. Application candidates’ employment experience will be verified by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
In order to allow carers who already have work experience in Canada from a prior work visa to apply for permanent residence, some spots under the current carer paths have also been set aside for them.

If you want to know more about Canadian immigration, do not hesitate to book an appointment for professional consultation for your most suitable path!
