A record 608,420 Canadian work permits went into effect in 2022.
This is about 200,000 more work licences than were issued in 2021 when just 414,000 permits were issued.
Work permits were provided through the International Mobility Program (IMP) and the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, Canada’s two main work permit avenues (TFWP).
